The focus of this blog is a bit of a social experiment. My wife and I wanted to see just how far we could get around the country on a limited budget and by limited I mean none. Sure, we started the trip with money, but we quickly found out how expensive the world was outside the Great Lakes region. Also unfortunately not factored in was the change in peoples behavior, demeanor, and anything else even resembling the small-town life we had grown accustomed to, or was raised in. One of us, a veteran traveler, didn't take into account the change in people from ten years ago.
Thus, begins our blog "Our Life in the Van." This life is NOT for everyone and if your a late teen to early twenty-something who decides "Hey I wanna be a hippie" or maybe your a retiree motorhoming across the US hopefully in reading this blog we can teach you a few tricks to make your journey easier.
